Protecting Hardin Memorial Hospital

Hardin Memorial Hospital is a regional healthcare center serving Hardin as well as nine surrounding counties with a total population of over 350,000. As a county owned, nonprofit organization, Hardin Memorial is one of the largest government owned healthcare facilities in the Commonwealth and is Kentucky's largest owned county hospital. Hardin County Fiscal Court is the Board of Trustees for HMH with the Judge/Executive serving as the Chairman of the Board.

Hardin Memorial is a 300 bed acute care facility with over 1,500 of the Commonwealth's best healthcare professionals working to meet the needs of our citizens. By utilizing a market leading approach to providing compensation and benefits, HMH is highly successful in attracting and retaining the highest quality healthcare staff in the region.

The core values of confirming our patient focus; manifesting teamwork, dedication, and integrity; continually improving processes and systems; and maintaining communications throughout the organization makes Hardin Memorial a leading member of the Kentucky Hospital Association. HMH is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) as well as numerous other accreditation organizations related to specialized care and services provided at our hospital.

Hardin Memorial's annual multi-million capital budget affords the continual upgrades and improvements required to provide access to state-of-the-art facilities and equipment necessary to deliver leading edge healthcare services to our community.

While our Nation's struggling economy has added additional stress to the delivery of healthcare services, Hardin Memorial Hospital continues to be among the top leaders in providing first rate programs and services to the patients we serve. Over the last two years, many efficiencies have been implemented to reduce costs while still maintaining top rated services. Revenue sources have been fine tuned to assure maximum income generation, redundancy has been reduced to lower costs, and programs and procedures have been reviewed and modified to increase efficiency and output.

Through their ingenuity, passion, and commitment, the staff and leadership of HMH continues to provide stellar results during this challenging period of strained economic hardship! Again this fiscal year, with an annual operating budget of almost $200 million, the staff and leadership of HMH will provide state-of-the-art services to approximately 50,000 emergency room patients and 12,000 inpatients. As always, Hardin Memorial is working hard to meet our healthcare needs and will continue striving to remain the region's top healthcare provider of choice.
